Centurion at a glance

Centurion formerly known as Verwoerdburg is a town situated between Johannesburg and the Midrand of the Gauteng province in the high veld region of South Africa. It falls within the jurisdiction of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality (Pretoria). The Sterkfontein Caves which are located only 50km from Centurion are believed to have fossils from two to three million years ago and are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sunderland Ridge

Sunderland Ridge runs adjacently to highly developed, established and well known industrial, residential and commercial area known as Centurion. Centurion has had two different names over the years, Verwoerdburg and prior to that Lyttelton. The name change occurred in 1995. The Sunderland Ridge industrial area grew out of the need for more warehouse space for certain industries that service Centurion. What also makes this location favourable is its proximity to nature as well and the Rietspruit Dam. To the central business district, it takes around 20.5km and takes roughly 26km depending on which route is taken. To the central business district of Johannesburg near park station, it takes roughly 49 minutes and is around 50km depending on the route chosen.

Hennopspark is a thriving, well-established suburb in the heart of Centurion, just 2.7 kilometers from Centurion’s city centre. Hennopspark is one of Centurion’s older suburbs and over the years many developments have taken place to create the bustling and robust Hennopspark of today.

The closest airport to Hennopspark is Lanseria International Airport, which is 40 kilometres away. The busier airport officially known as the OR Tambo International Airport is a manageable distance of 50 kilometres from Hennopspark central.

Hennopspark has an abundance of shopping centres within the vicinity including Reds Mall, Centurion Mall, Centurion Lifestyle Centre, Sutherland Shopping Centre and Koedoe Arcade among others. Transport

There are at least a dozen inter-suburb bus stops at key points within Hennopspark. There is no train station in Hennopspark, but there is a Gautrain station nearby (3.9 kilometres away) in neighboring area of Die Hoewes.
